This self portrait in winter getup is my homage to N. C. Wyeth, patriarch of the Wyeth family of artists. His self portrait in Christmas attire is my favorite painting at the Brandywine River Museum, showing the elder Wyeth in front of a canvas wearing red and green with knit hat and scarf smiling ear to ear looking out at the viewer.
N. C. Wyeth, Self Portrait in Skating Cap 1918.
My painting is on a tiny 5 by 7 canvas. I can't help but think some of these paintings would be better if they were on larger canvases, but doing these miniatures are just too much fun.
